Patch Notes 2.02

Hello Survivors,

Patch 2.02 introduces phase 2 of the INDUSTRIAL components. Shop Drones have arrived, get your purchases delivered to your base with ease.  Explore the new Easy and Hard mode servers and play the way you want! Feast your ears to the new and improved gun audio for all guns and make the most of the upcoming Halloween Events!

 

NEW FEATURES

  • Easy Mode Servers: A new game mode in Rust, aimed at more casual players.

  • Hard Mode Servers: A new game mode in Rust, aimed towards veteran players. Safezones, Team Creation and Maps are not available in this mode.

  • Drone Marketplace: Added to the Bandit Camp and Outpost monuments and allow ordering of items from any vending machine on the map to be delivered by drone.

  • New Mushroom World Models: Mushrooms picked up around the island now have proper models when dropped from your inventory.

  • New Seed Sack World Models: Seeds for all vegetation now have improved models when dropped, allowing players to identify them more easily.

  • New Gun Audio: All guns in the game have received a major update to their audio.

  • Halloween: New Halloween content including Halloween Rifts, map-roaming scarecrows, the wooden stake and new world assets for resources. The event will be available for a limited time on official servers from October 17th, 2024 to November 7th, 2024, and will also be available to Community Server owners from around the same start date.

 

COMMUNITY SERVERS

  • Visual overlay effect of spectating player’s equipped gear will no longer persist after spectator respawn. 

  • Action popup now has the correct title when first opened in the Admin items list. 

  • Equipable items and weapon attachments no longer misaligned when spectating a player holding the items.

  • Moderators and above no longer get kicked out of the server when scrolling through the ban list with 1000+ bans. 

  • Players no longer get stuck on the Welcome Message when the controller gets disconnected whilst joining a community server.

  • Admin-only items can now be sold in Vending machines. 

  • Players are able to move Admin only Items normally into their Inventory once acquired.

  • Moderators can now spectate from Player Actions. 

  • Players are no longer able to damage Tugboats when "AllowPvBDamage" is set to 0.

  • Item Multiplier convars are now working with Electric Furnaces.

  • Updated description for “Spectate” and “Kick and Ban” in Player List Actions

  • Test generator is now available in the Admin List.

 

GAMEPLAY

  • Collision under Launch Site Rocket now aligns with floor. 

  • Smoke Grenades, F1 Grenades and 4x Zoom Scope crafting times have been adjusted to match the Steam version. 

  • Crafting Torpedos now gives 5 Torpedos.

  • Ladder hatches now require wood to repair.

  • Throwing Items above a certain angle no longer causes them to fall through the floor. 

  • Players no longer levitate when walking through the railing on moving Tugboats.

  • Default craft time for all window types is reduced from 30s to 15s.

  • The HV Rifle and HV Pistol Ammo crafting cost now requires the correct amount of gunpowder.

  •  Players are no longer able to flip Tugboats by throwing satchels at door hinges on Tugboats.

  • Players will not take damage when shot at certain angles. This was previously registered as ‘player_distance’ in the combat log.

  • Keycard wire is no longer missing at the Water Treatment Plant.

  • Players can now navigate in any direction across the top of a wall frame without clipping. 

  • The Doors at Underwater Labs are no longer misaligned. 

  • Looting Horses before examining them no longer show storage space when the horses are not equipped with either a Saddle bag or a Wooden Horse Armor.

  • Reduced invalid shots when shooting through railing on Oil Rig Crane.

  • Horses no longer kill players instantly while clipping through objects. 

  • Horses can no longer kick players off whilst being ridden. 

  • Updated Tool Cupboard to block Gunpowder, Sulphur, Sulphur Ore, Explosives, Diesel Fuel, CCTV Camera and Targeting Computer from being stored, to match the Steam version.

  • Small Backpacks can now be equipped whilst wearing Chest Armour.

  • Doors can no longer be demolished with the Hammer. 

  • LR-300 now has the correct repair materials of 14x High Quality Metal. (Burst Module is no longer required)

  • Water Purifiers can now be picked up by the Hammer. 

  • Snap Trap now activates when players stand on it. 

  • Specific tool storage slots in the Tool Cupboard will now retrieve the first item stored to it. 

  • Players are no longer able to kill each other on Builder’s Paradise servers.

  • Outpost and Bandit Camp Vendors now restock correctly. 

  • Industrial Conveyor now has Large Backpack inside its filter.

  • Players can now open or close doors when viewing at all angles.

  • Players can assign a friend a sleeping bag/bed.

  • Players on Playstation consoles can purchase Rust Coin from the skin store.

  • Large Furnace resource output is the same as the amount that has been inputted.

  • Dropping items on the driving console in Tugboat will no longer make it clip through and fall.

  • Removed metal beam blocking through Small Oil Rig Moonpool.

  • Dying with the backpack inventory open no longer blocks inventory navigation.

 

VISUAL

  • Blocky shadows for dust particles no longer appear behind a horse when it runs in the desert. 

  • Player model no longer snaps when switching held items after being idle.

  • Some pipes in the Large Oil Rig now have the correct colours.

  • There is no longer Z-Fighting on Rocket Crane at Launch Site..

  • There is no longer Z-Fighting on the floor by Diesel Barrel in the Water Treatment Plant.

  • Pipes no longer flicker when connection ring effect reappears.

  • Flickering Light no longer leaks into the Oxum garage and office room. 

  • Items in the Oxum office room no longer have LOD issues.

  • Pipes in Underwater Labs no longer appear black when players hold a light to it.

  • Industrial Doors in Outpost no longer have LOD issues. 

  • Netting no longer has LOD issues.

  • Swapping tools after creating a connection type will cause all the connection flow VFX to be visible again with the tool that was swapped to.

  • The Hobo Barrel at Oxums gas station and abandoned supermarket have the correct textures.

  • Highlighted wire/hose/pipe connections are only shown when the Tool Cupboard is nearby and the current player is authorised to it.

  • HBHF Sensor now lights up when connected to the power source.

  • Key and code lock silhouettes are now shown on both sides of doors.

  • A Green line no longer appears when throwing a rock. 

  • Small pixel squares no longer visible around Game Over skinned Fridge.

  • Multiple items now have greyed-out prompts when empty.

  • The Small Water Catcher UI in the Outpost now updates and functions as intended.  

  • Bollards at Large Harbour no longer floats off the ground.

  • Desks are positioned correctly in multiple locations. 

  • Moonpool at Small Oil Rig now has correct lighting. 

  • Shipping Container texts inside Cargo Ship now have the correct colours.

  • Hoses no longer appear black and untextured when viewed at various angles.

 

UI

  • Water Containers now have button prompts in their descriptions.

  • Hydration values now scale correctly with the amount of available water when under 50 ml. 

  • Joining a Server while dead no longer displays the player marker at the map origin point.

  • Bone Helmet melee stats now stack with the correct percentage

  • Default Ping markers now centre correctly when placed.

  • The Water Purifier loot panel now has the correct text. 

  • The Map Marker default label now counts up if the previously placed marker does not use the default colour. 

  • The Building plan UI no longer stays on screen after unequipping it. 

  • HBHF Sensor no longer has misleading HUD text when looked at with Hammer.

  • “Confirm” UI bar will stop showing if other buttons are pressed whilst confirming Keypad Interfaces. 

  • “Take” and “Take All” prompts are now visible on Night Vision Goggles in the backpack inventory.

  • Button prompts for “Clear All Filters” and “Modify Filter” will not overlap with the text when the Conveyor Filter is opened.

  • Vending Machine names can no longer exceed the 16 character text limit and are now consistent with Sleeping Bags/Beds, Map Markers and CCTV.

  • Incompatible items are now greyed out for backpack slots when accessing item containers.

  • Doodle Eleven T-shirts are no longer desaturated in the inventory and crafting page.

  • The players’ position icon in the Map no longer becomes invisible when moving through the map while zoomed in.

  • On the Death Screen,  the first sleeping bag in the cluster will now snap on the map.

  • “Take” button prompt is no longer missing on the Filling and Unfilling menu. 

  • Input prompt on the Gesture wheel is no longer greyed out and has the correct font.

  • Vending Machines now have the correct button prompts.

  • Button prompts in the Filter Options menu are no longer misaligned.

  • Switch Output now has the correct translation.

  • Switching tabs quickly after opening the map will no longer cause map overlay to persist even after the map is closed.

  • Conveyor UI no longer persists if a player dies while it is still open.

  • Treasure Chest skins now have the correct translations.

 

OTHER CHANGES

  • Games no longer stutter and freeze when using a mono earpiece or when the headphone jack is not properly connected. 

  • Players on XBOX can now join a friend’s game from the XBOX homepage.

  • Voice chat is now usable with any HUD visibility setting.
