The team is hard at work on the Underground Trains update, which is currently planned to arrive in Rust Console Edition alongside the monthly wipe in late August.
You will not have to wait that long to experience it, though, as the update is scheduled to arrive on the Public Test Branch in early August. There is plenty to talk about, so let’s get right into it.
Underground Trains
As announced in our roadmap, Underground Trains will be the next major content update for Rust Console Edition. Much like World 2.0, this update will be divided into two parts.
The first part will introduce the underground railway system, allowing players to enter the tunnels through entrances scattered around the map. You will also find bunker entrances located farther away from monuments, providing additional ways to access the network below.
Once underground, you will be able to explore the railway system and use the newly added workcarts to travel beneath the island.
However, workcarts are not the only thing waiting for you down there.
A new faction known as the Tunnel Dwellers patrols the underground network, protecting the valuable loot found within and dealing with any unexpected visitors who wander into their territory.
We will share a full breakdown of everything included in the update as we get closer to its official release. In the meantime, players will be able to experience it early through the Public Test Branch.
Our current target date for the Public Test Branch release is August 6. Please keep in mind that this date may change as development and internal testing continue.
Coconut party!
For this month’s wipe, you can expect an update containing many bug fixes and improvements.
This includes a fix for an issue that prevented Community Server names from displaying colours correctly. We know many server owners and players have been waiting for this improvement, and we truly appreciate your patience while the team worked to ensure the fix was reliable and ready for release.
Also arriving with the wipe is the Coconut Underwear DLC, which will become available as soon as the new wipe begins.
It is the perfect outfit for enjoying summer on the island, provided nobody asks how much protection a coconut actually offers during a firefight.
The team is also continuing to work on the Sunburn Pack. This pack will require a little more time before it is ready for release, but we will announce its arrival across our social channels as soon as we have more information to share.
RustGuard Update
We are continuing to improve RustGuard and strengthen our efforts to keep Rust Console Edition fair for everyone.
Alongside our automated systems, the team has resumed issuing manual bans where necessary. Reports involving players displaying or promoting prohibited third party devices on social media are also being reviewed manually once sufficient evidence has been collected.
Bans issued for these offences are permanent. Any attempt to avoid or bypass a ban will result in further enforcement against the new account.
We understand that questions and claims surrounding bans can spread quickly online. However, all of the false ban claims we investigate come from accounts that have previously shown, promoted, or advertised the use of prohibited third party devices.
Advertising these devices, promoting their use, or selling scripts designed for them can also result in a permanent ban. Anyone who wants to continue playing Rust Console Edition should avoid using or promoting them in any form.
