Dev Blog #51

This month’s Dev Blog will be a little shorter than usual, as we do not have a major content update releasing. That said, we still have plenty of exciting things to share with you, including our roadmap for the second half of the year, updates on higher player capacity servers, a new DLC, and some free anniversary rewards. Let’s get into it.

What to Expect in the Months Ahead

Let’s start with the topic many of you have been waiting for, the roadmap for the second half of the year.

As you already know, June will bring World 2.0 Part 2 to Rust Console Edition, adding caves, Radtown, and several other new features to the game. From July onwards, here is what you can expect:

We hope you are all excited for the road ahead. The team is hard at work on these updates as we speak, but some parts of the roadmap may be subject to change. If that happens, we’ll be sure to let you know.

More Players, More Action!

Alongside the roadmap content, we are also continuing work on higher player capacity servers. We recently ran a test on the PTB servers with some of our amazing content creators and members of the Rust Console Edition community. The results were very promising, and we are happy with the progress so far.

There is still some work to do, and we may need to run a few more tests before everything is ready. Please keep an eye out for future testing opportunities, as your feedback is incredibly valuable to us.

Our initial goal is to support 125 player servers, but we will continue pushing that number as far as we can while keeping performance stable and avoiding any major issues. Once everything is in place, we will introduce higher player capacity servers to the game later this year.

RPG DLC

When subtlety is no longer an option, the RPG Launcher is here to make a statement. Built for players who like their raids loud and their entrances unforgettable, this battle hardened skin brings a fearsome new look to one of Rust Console Edition’s most destructive weapons.

The DLC also includes unique rocket ammunition skins, letting you send a message before the dust has even settled.

Celebrating 5 years of Rust Console Edition!

Now, let’s talk about some free stuff you’re all gonna love. Rust Console Edition recently turned 5, and to celebrate this special milestone, we have not one but two amazing free skins coming your way.

All you need to do to claim them is log in during the specified dates, and they will automatically be added to your account!

Scrap Memoir SKS Skin

The first anniversary reward is Scrap Memoir, a highly detailed SKS skin created to celebrate 5 years of Rust Console Edition and all the wipes, close calls, and survival stories that came with them.

We wanted to create something special to mark the occasion, and this skin does exactly that. Scrap Memoir is packed with detail, full of character, and easily one of the most memorable SKS skins we have ever created. To claim it, visit your platform store. The Memoir Skin will be available to claim for free from June 4 to June 18.

We made it for you, and we hope you enjoy it!

5 Year Anniversary AK Skin

And the second reward is another piece of the anniversary set. We have a brand new custom AK skin ready for you to take into battle. To claim it, head to your platform store. This skin will be available to grab for free from June 25 to July 9.

That’s everything for this month’s Dev Blog. Thank you for being part of 5 years of Rust Console Edition. We cannot wait for you to experience what's coming next.

- See you on the island
