Dev Blog #49
On March 26, a new update lands on the island, bringing with it quality of life improvements, meta changing adjustments, and long requested community features. It is also an important step toward improving performance and stability before World 2.0 arrives at the end of April. There is a lot to get into with this update, so let’s break down some of the biggest changes.
Running Sideways? Not Anymore
Following community feedback the side sprinting has been removed. This feature could sometimes feel unfair because of how quickly players were able to move and strafe side to side while shooting. Combat should now feel more methodical, with positioning, timing, and smarter movement mattering even more.
After testing this change on the Public Test Branch, the version being introduced is the final one, with a slightly wider movement cone to better suit controller and analog stick movement. Please, let us know what you think.
A Crosshair That Works for You
Another big and highly requested addition coming with this update is crosshair customization. This is a great accessibility feature for anyone who wants more control over how the game looks and feels, letting you adjust the style and colour of your crosshair to better match your preference.
You will also be able to customise the colour of other UI elements, giving you even more ways to tailor the experience to your liking, so make sure to give these new options a try.
More Ways to Mod Your Weapons
Two new silencers and a brand new Gas Compression Overdrive are arriving with Update 1.11, giving players a few more ways to customise their loadout. The Soda Can Silencer and Oil Filter Silencer can now be crafted at Tier 1 and Tier 2 Workbenches, replacing the craftable Military Silencer, which will still remain in the game as a loot spawn.
As for the Gas Compression Overdrive, this is a brand new mod that can be attached to a wide range of weapons, increasing bullet damage and velocity in exchange for a slower rate of fire. This makes it a strong choice for players who prefer harder hitting shots, especially at longer range.
Turrets Need Boundaries Too…
One last major adjustment in this update focuses on turrets. Players will now only be able to power a maximum of 12 turrets within a 40 metre radius, helping improve overall game balance and reduce excessive turret spam. This change is intended to make base defence feel more strategic rather than overwhelming, while also creating more room for counterplay during raids and fights.
Other Changes
There are also a handful of other impactful changes included in this update, and we will be speedrunning through them here to keep this Dev Blog from getting too lengthy.
First is an adjustment to recycler efficiency. Recyclers located inside Safe Zones will now operate at 40% efficiency, while those found outside Safe Zones will run at 60% efficiency, reinforcing a stronger risk versus reward dynamic.
We are also updating the Holosight FOV so that it now zooms correctly when aiming down sights, helping deliver a more consistent and accurate experience.
Finally, ammo world models have been updated to match the PC version, making different ammo stacks easier to identify at a glance.
Spyke160 has also made an awesome video covering most of these changes and showcasing how they impact the game, so if you would prefer to see them in video format, I would strongly recommend giving it a watch.
The Easter Goodies Drop
The Easter event will run from March 26 through April 16.
The Easter Egg Hunt will appear every 24-36 hours, giving players 3 minutes to gather as many eggs as possible. The top three players will receive a special prize egg.
Painted eggs collected during the hunt can be upgraded to bronze, then to silver, and finally to gold. Each upgrade requires 10 eggs. Higher-tier eggs provide better rewards, with gold offering the most valuable loot.
Easter Eggs can also be opened for a range of rewards, from basic scrap all the way up to an M249.
These items are exclusive to the event and cannot be crafted:
Bunny Ears: Boost Egg Vision, helping you spot more eggs during an Easter egg hunt.
Bunny Onesie: Improves Egg Vision, making it easier to find additional eggs.
Easter Basket: Equip to collect eggs with LT/L2 during an Easter egg hunt. Use RT/R2 to throw.
Painted Eggs: Gathered while the Easter egg hunt is active. Collect 10 to upgrade into a Bronze Egg.
Bronze Egg: Open for a reward, or collect 10 to upgrade into a Silver Egg.
Silver Egg: Contains mid-tier loot. Collect 10 to upgrade into a Gold Egg.
Gold Egg: Contains top-tier Easter rewards.

Content Creator Program Selection Round Two
We’re opening our content creator program for another round of applications. This time, we’ve introduced a few requirements to help make the selection process smoother for everyone involved. To apply, you’ll need a minimum of 10,000 followers across a single platform or combined across multiple platforms, an average of 3,000 views per video, and a short description of the kind of content you create. If you’d like to apply, click the button below.
As part of the content creator program, selected members will receive free skins as they are released, free DLC codes, access to an exclusive content creator Discord, and a direct line of communication with some of the developers.
Applications will remain open until April 10, and we’ll contact selected creators shortly after. Please keep in mind that meeting the requirements does not guarantee selection, but it is a strong first step.
That’s everything for this month. We hope to see you all back on the island very soon for the next wipe, starting on March 26, and that you’re just as excited as we are for World 2.0 launching at the end of April.
See you all on the island!
