DEV BLOG #23

Hello Survivors! As the year wraps up, we're super excited to share some awesome news for the rest of November and December. This marks our final Dev Blog of 2023, and rest assured, it's a special edition bursting with announcements!

Without further ado, let's jump straight into the heart of the action because we've got a lot to share. Starting with the most anticipated feature, community servers…

THE COMMUNITY SERVERS ARE COMING!!

As many of you may know, we've been conducting some specialised tests on the Public Test Branch for the Community Server. This aimed to assess the performance of this new feature and gauge the range of customization options available at the moment. The feedback from participants has been positive, and we're thrilled to share a lot of new information with you!

Our current version brings a good amount of server customization, allowing you to shape your RUST adventure as you see fit. We want you to have control over your experience and use all the available tools to create your own rules and make the game uniquely yours!

For those eagerly awaiting the chance to dive into the world of community servers, mark your calendars! The option to rent a server through G-Portal will be available to everyone on the 30th of November, 2023.

To streamline the process and provide a viable option for 2023, we've focused our efforts on working with a singular partner. This is not an exclusivity deal as more provider options will be available in the future. But the unwavering support from our partners has been instrumental in making this happen, with both the Double Eleven and G-Portal teams working tirelessly to ensure this feature is available within 2023.

Now, let's talk about the pricing for community servers. Making sure it's affordable is super important to us. Working with G-Portal, we've figured out what we think is a fair cost for everyone. It will be €17 (about $18.23 converted) per 30 days and the server can handle up to 100 players. Right now, there's just one rent plan, but keep an eye out for more options as we team up with more partners in the future.

We're excited to finally launch the Community Servers feature after months of game optimization. Be aware that initially, some options might be limited, but rest assured, we plan to continue evolving this new feature. And please be mindful of your server configurations and wipe schedules [weekly, bi-weekly and monthly] to avoid potential gameplay hiccups, as overloading the server can lead to issues due to hardware constraints of the consoles. Thank you for being part of this exciting journey with us!

QOL UPDATE

As we revealed in our previous Dev Blogs, we will have the release of the Quality Of Life update at the end of November. This update is packed with features designed to enhance your gameplay experience. Among the highlights are the introduction of the combat log, increased storage capacity for both small and large boxes, and the addition of Diesel to the game, just to name a few. We already dove into the details of what's to come in our previous Dev Blog so you can find all the information here.

The Quality of Life update goes live with the Monthly Wipe at the end of November, and to answer the most common question - this will not be a BP wipe. In case you want one, there will be numerous freshly created community servers waiting for you.

DRIFTER IS MAKING ITS WAY TO THE ISLAND

Following last month's sneak peek at our First Hazmat skin for RUST Console Edition, this month, we're excited to reveal the complete Drifter collection, giving you a detailed look at all the items within.

The Drifter complete collection will be available for 2500 RUST Coins, offering an exclusive hazmat suit, Hammer, hatchet, Pickaxe, and two powerful weapons – the Assault Rifle and the MP5. Each item showcases a brand-new unique mesh, giving them a distinct appearance from the original items present in the game. If you only want some of the items inside of the pack, worry not! You'll have the option to purchase the items individually, including the hazmat skin.

We really want to hear what you think about our first hazmat skin, so please share your thoughts with us on social media. Your opinions matter a lot, and we're looking forward to hearing from you!

CHRISTMAS IS COMING!

To wrap up our info packed Dev Blog, we're excited to tell you about what's happening in early December. We love celebrating the festive season, so starting on December 7th, we're kicking off the Xmas event. This includes all cool features from last year like the 'presents' event and some other returning items like the Candy Cane Club, Snowball gun, Ice walls, and more.

But the real highlight for the year is the Gingerbread mines. These sweet mines made of gingerbread and candy, are scattered around the map. Bust one open, and fight all the Gingerbread men inside, so you can get some of that sweet seasonal loot!

Oh, and don't miss our Twitter giveaway! If our page hits 185k followers, we're giving away the Solid Gold Assault Rifle to all players. This skin won't be in the store ever again, so if you want some extra free goodies, make sure to follow us on Twitter!

That’s all for the month, and for the rest of 2023. We hope you enjoy our upcoming updates for RUST Console Edition and we are super excited to see all of your amazing server creations. We will be back with more Dev Blogs in late January, but until then, I’ll see you on the island survivors!
