Greetings, brave survivors! Welcome to another monthly Dev Blog. First and foremost, the team would like to thank you all for all the support you have shown for the Horsepocalypse update. We all worked hard to make it a reality and we are extremely humbled by your fantastic response. We hope you keep enjoying RUST Console Edition as much as we enjoy bringing it to all of you.
There’s still more to come, and we are extremely excited for what the future holds. In this Dev Blog, we will share with you our plans for the rest of 2023.
UPDATE 1.82
To kick things off, we're launching update 1.82 this week, alongside the monthly wipe. This update brings a slew of much-requested improvements to the game. Just to name a few, we've made improvements to invalid shots, fixed the issue with X on the tree markings, and ensured that horses, buildings, and players won't mysteriously disappear for a short while. There’s more to come and we will share it all in the patch notes.
Update 1.82 will be available to download as soon as the wipe starts at 6PM UTC. Make sure to download it before hopping back into the game. Servers will be back online at 6:30 PM UTC, and we look forward to seeing you all there for the next monthly wipe!
TESTING COMMUNITY SERVERS
The moment has arrived! In October, we're gearing up for our first community server test. This first test will be a stress test on a dedicated number of servers to evaluate their performance. If you want to take part in it, all you need is access to the Public Test Branch. We're still finalising the starting date for the test, so be sure to keep an eye on our Discord server and Twitter page for more updates in the near future.
It’s possible we will conduct more tests following this one, but progress is being made and we are extremely excited to finally be able to deliver this highly requested feature, and we can't wait for all of you to dive in!
HALLOWEEN EVENT
In October, get ready for our Halloween event! This year, it brings a blood moon and some scary flaming animals. Plus, we're adding new lootable in-game costumes for free so you can celebrate Halloween in style! Are you prepared to trick or treat your RUST neighbours?
The Haunted Hunt event begins on October 19th and lasts for two weeks. We hope you have a blast with it. And just like last year, we'll have new themed skins in the shop for those who want to take their spooky celebrations to the next level!
QOL UPDATE!
In late November, get ready for a huge Quality Of Life Improvement update in RUST Console Edition. This marks the final major update of 2023, and we're planning to include many of the QOL features you've been asking for. For now, we would love to keep the details a surprise, but trust us, it's going to be fantastic!
Also, at the end of November, we'll release our very first Hazmat skin for RUST Console Edition. The Legendary pack will be up for grabs from November 30th to December 14th. If you're interested, keep an eye on the skin store!
