Skin Store Coming Soon!
Survivors, exciting news incoming! The skin store is almost here and we want to share some details on what’s to come with this update. Some of the points we will cover in this post are the Skin tiers, the prices and rotation schedule for the skins.
The release of the skins store will be tomorrow on October 7th and we will have four different bundles available for everyone who wants to take customization to a whole new level! Each skin pack will contain around 5 to 6 unique skins with a central theme around them like the Shinobi pack we revealed earlier in our Dev Blog #2. If you just want to get your hands on some of the cosmetics inside a pack, there’s the possibility to buy them individually, however if you buy the complete bundle you will receive a discount.
The first set of bundles in the store will be split into three different tiers, those being Common, Rare, and Epic. These bundles will cost:
Common bundles ⇒ around 450 Rust Coins
Rare bundles ⇒ around 1000 Rust Coins
Epic bundles ⇒ around 2000 Rust Coins
Tiers will be set by bundles and not by each skin individually. Whilst the cost of Rust Coins will not be changing, the price of skins may be adjusted over time as we tweak and improve the user experience as we learn how you are using the skin store.
Bundles will rotate regularly with four different sets coming each time (subject to change). Some bundles to come in the future may contain themes that were used before but with a different set of cosmetics, so think of each concept more as a possible collection.
In the future, we might consider bringing some of the most popular bundles back to the skin store for a limited time. We cannot guarantee that your favourite bundle will return though. We already have a large amount of unique concepts for the months to come, so don’t expect any repetition anytime soon!
Now that you know how the skins work, let's talk about the skin store!
In the main menu of the store you will be able to cycle through the collections to see which bundles better suit your style. You will also have the option to view the collection and check all the individual skins inside of it. This will allow you to pick skins individually or if you feel like it, go for the complete pack! Skin bundles that you already owned will be marked as such.
You can also inspect each item individually with a full 360° 3D render before you buy them, so you can have a better perception of how the item will look once you have it equipped in game!
There’s also the locker. This is a separate menu which lets you view all the skins you already own, and filter them by clothing, weapons, tools and items.
All the UI for the skins store and the Locker was designed with our players in mind, making it as friendly and easy to use as possible but some changes might come in the future based on players feedback so don’t be shy, if you would like to see any changes please let us know!
Later today we will also share three teasers separately, one for each of the bundles we haven’t revealed yet. If you are curious please keep an eye on our Official Twitter page (@playrustconsole) or Join our official Discord server!
We know most of you are as excited as we are for the release of the Skin Store and we can’t wait to finally release it for everyone. Hope you all have a great day, expect the next Blog Post for when we have some news about the Public Test Branch!
