Patch Notes 1.8
Hello Survivors,
This patch includes new content, important bug fixes, general gameplay fixes and quality of life improvements.
FEATURES
New Christmas features include - Santa’s Supply Drop where Santa’s sleigh flies over the map and drops an airdrop in the form of a huge gift, and Sleds which can be found through loot or crafting. The Christmas event will begin on December 12th and will only be available for a limited time.
Added Arctic Research Base. It’s a new arctic biome exclusive monument filled with various lab modules and buildings scattered around the base. Here players can unlock Snowmobiles after completing a puzzle.
Added Snowmobiles. Located within the Arctic Base, Snowmobiles are a new mode of transportation that is fast on snow and sand, and slow everywhere else.
Added Polar Bears. The strongest and most hostile animal in the world, Polar Bears will only spawn in the arctic biome. It yields extra resources when harvested compared to the regular bear.
Added Metal Detectors. Metal detectors allow players to find metal objects hidden beneath the ground.
Hides the map seed information when in Streamer Mode.
Sleeping Bag limit has increased to 15, and now shows in the actively selected sleeping bag shows on the map.
Items now show the name of the player who created the item and how it was made. Only unstackable items support ownership.
Deployables can now be snapped into place when players are ready to place an object. Available in two options: Simple and Advanced which can be changed in the settings.
Press “A/Cross” to confirm a building option and to lock it in place before releasing “L2/LT”.
“No Construction” red zones show up when players are around monuments when using construction tools.
Oil Rig now produces a low but consistent radiation 30 minutes after the hacked crate is unlocked. The reset time from Oil Rig has also increased from 30 minutes to 1 hour 5 minutes matching the Steam version.
Updated the “Too Hot” status so it now deals damage when above 60°C, matching the Steam version.
Enabled rotation changes before deployment for certain deployables. Items include Electrical Branch, Splitter, Button, Blocker, Root Combiner, HBHF Sensor, Audio Alarm, RAND Switch, Siren Light, Flasher Light, Laser Detector, Pressure Pad, Tesla Coils, Sprinklers and Igniter.
Input and output arrows have been added to devices with input and output ports, making it visually clearer which direction water/electric/industrial item is flowing.
Switching between tools continues the previous tool’s wire/pipe placement when returning to the IO Tool.
Scientists have been added to Launch Site.
Players can now destroy Large Deployables with Hammer by holding “L2/LT” to bring up the radial wheel and select ‘Demolish’.
Tesla Coil will now slowly take damage when it is activated but will stop working once it gets to 25 health.
Monument puzzles are no longer reset while the player is in a keycard room.
Keycard durability no longer drains when swiping doors that are opening.
Added
Improved the Red X Tree hit marker.
Added MLRS Aiming Module and MLRS Rocket to Industrial Conveyor filters and Vending Machine.
Added tooltip visual to have an (i) appear alongside the typical tooltips.
Rug and Bear Rug can now be placed under deployed items.
Added several game tips when trying to place deployables on invalid positions/placements.
IMPROVEMENTS
Updated many placement errors to be more descriptive on the issue blocking placement such as other players or objects in the way.
Improved Lighting and added fixes to Launch Site windows.
Improved performance when interacting with blueprints at Workbenches.
Improved performance when using guns.
Adjusted texture settings on Xbox Series S to improve overall performance and stability.
Improved visuals for buildings in Outpost.
Improved performance when around very large bases.
Improved performance when using Jackhammer or Chainsaw tools.
Made minor performance improvements when sounds are being played in the game.
Made minor performance improvements around all monuments.
Improved textures for NPCs.
Hackable crates will now no longer show on the map after the first item has been looted.
Updated the icons in the “Pie Menus” to have unified icon positions.
Improved visuals for the Brutalist Building skin.
Improved visuals for the Abandoned Military Base tent and buildings.
Chainsaws now always start on the first try which matches the Steam version.
FIXES
Fixed multiple live crashes faced by players.
Fixed vehicle stuttering while being ridden or piloted.
Fixed infinite building range after placing a Tool Cupboard.
Fixed being able to go through windows at Launch Site without using a red keycard.
Fixed shadow flickering issue on rocks around the entrance of the underground in Sewer Branch when viewed at a certain angle.
Fixed missing smoke effect when the SAM Site turret found at launch site reaches 0 HP.
Fixed fuzziness on various items and windows in Abandoned Military Base.
Fixed CH47 helicopter wheels clipping into the helipad when landing at Oil Rig.
Fixed Drone Marketplace terminal text jittering when viewed at distance.
Fixed cliffs in Tundra biome to use proper surface and colors.
Fixed an issue where the pistol chamber would not slide open to indicate when it is empty.
Holo Sight Reticle no longer disappears when it’s being aimed at an area with smoke.
Steam now shows correctly on the water purifier pipes when water is boiling.
Fixed the fire visual effects in the cooker at the Underwater Labs.
Flame visual effects in the Hot Air Balloon no longer clips through the tube.
Fixed Storage Monitor jittering when attached to a Tool Cupboard.
Restored cargo plane trail.
Fixed skin prompt appearing for certain water vehicles.
Adjusted the visuals of muzzle flash of guns with Silencer attached to match Steam.
Fixed keycard clipping through player finger model when wearing Tactical Gloves.
Fixed incorrect texture when upgrading foundations to sheet metal.
Fixed missing SFX when interacting with Recycler, Repair Bench, Research Table, Small Oil Refinery, Interactable Hobo Barrel, Barbeques and Water Well at monuments.
Fixed missing SFX when equipping the horse saddle for the first time.
Fixed player facing direction when dismounting computer stations.
Rugs can now be easily picked up from the floor and ceiling when a Hammer is equipped.
Fixed Liquid Containers auto-draining from Fuel Tank Vehicle Module UI when “Y/Triangle” is held then released.
Fixed bed guide mesh not turning to orange when near authorized beds and sleeping bags.
Fixed player corpses following Hot Air Balloon after falling through Hot Air Balloon basket.
Fixed not being able to rename Camper Van Beds.
Fixed an issue where clicking “LS/L3” buttons would not switch between stats and info for items within the inventory.
Fixed a bug where ammo counts on guns in Attack Helicopter turrets were reset in the UI after moving items in the player's inventory.
Fixed an issue where boars were not spawning on servers with default population settings.
Fixed an issue where players would not be able to cancel/adjust the wire pin more than four times.
Fixed overlapping trees spawning within each other in monuments.
Patrol and Cargo Helicopter icons now appear correctly on the map when the event is active.
Fixed Military Tunnel generated under terrain.
Adjusted screen shake intensity for consistency across all hatchet tools.
Fixed incorrect wood plank textures in Oxum's Gas Station.
Fixed loot transfer between storage containers and inventory causing item stacks to appear as a single item.
Fixed incorrect localisation for SAM Site item name.
Fixed an issue where shining a light source on smokes at night will make it appear black at certain angles.
Fixed windmill blades clipping into the building in Bandit Camp.
Fixed Crossbow, Compound bow and Hunting Bow ammo count from going into negative numbers after firing more than 2 arrows.
Fixed stairs inside Air Wolf Vendor being flipped.
Fixed a bug where inflicting bleeding damage on other players was causing the lethal timer to constantly reset.
Fixed an issue where the map would remain visible after player death if rapidly pressing through the respawn screen.
Fixed a bug with the ammo count in the inventory UI where guns with low ammo shows as 0 until interacted by the player.
Throwable tools and weapons now have the correct spinning animation when thrown.
Fixed a bug where Oil Rig doors would close early and not be able to be opened.
Updated localisation for Fishing Rod description.
Fixed a bug where players will get stuck when landing over the rowhouses at the Outpost from an air vehicle.
Salvaged shelves can now be picked up by a hammer when no items are on the shelves.
When players are mounted on a magnet crane, the surrounding environment no longer jitters.
Drop Box lights now match the Steam version.
The button for leaving queue or leaving server now uses the hold button instead of press.
Fixed an issue where the Player Marker remains visible on the map after toggling it to be hidden.
Removed the incorrect ‘Toggle Flares’ text from the Motorbike and Modular Vehicles control layout.
Text will no longer shrink after pressing the ‘Trade’ button on the trading menu.
Text on the oil refinery at The Dome now correctly says “Small Refinery“.
“Quality“ information is no longer missing when players highlight the engine parts.
Fixed an issue where the ‘Select Container’ prompt persists when navigating from modules with internal storage to modules without internal storage.
Fixed the placement validity of a storage adaptor to cover all sides of the storage barrel.
Fixed the emissives of the radioactive barrels found in the Military Tunnel.
The amount shown on the Administrate Menu in Vending Machines will no longer show 32 regardless of the actual amount chosen.
Fixed item amount in “Modify Kit” and “Kit Creation” menu to show the correct amount that is chosen by the player.
Fixed an issue where accessing the MLRS Targeting Map on Hardcore servers would cause a hardlock.
Fixed visual issues with the Code Lock, Key Lock, and Storage Monitor.
Fixed minor clipping issues on the Ghillie Burlap Gloves.
Fixed the Scheduler command on Community Servers to respond correctly.
Bodies of water will no longer disappear at certain angles.
Fixed Kit Machines not included as part of the Vending Machine icon marker filter on the map view.
Fixed the setting to enable or disable NPC navigation not working for GPortal servers.
Fixed inconsistent interior lighting inside the main building at Launch Site.
Fixed the "global.teleportgrid" command teleporting all players into midair instead of to a specified position.
Fixed issue where sleeping players on Tugboats would remain invulnerable even after leaving the safe zone area.
Fixed fuzziness on the eye section of the Toxic Skull Metal Face Mask when looking at its world model.
Fixed backend text appearing when placing a bed or interacting with the camper bed.
Fixed berries being white in colour.
Triangle planters can now be unlocked in Workbenches.
Fixed minor visual issues with Anime Arsenal pack in the Locker preview.
Fixed players able to receive damage from the environment and self-inflicted weapon damage when enabling Immortal servers.
Fixed players getting hardlocked on the death screen after attempting to exit spectate mode when spectating was initiated from the player list on the death screen.
